Hakibbutz Hameuchad – Sifriat Poalim is a well-established publishing house, founded in Israel in 1939.
We publish titles in Hebrew, both local and foreign, of various literary genres: fiction and non-fiction, poetry, children and YA.
Our primary focus throughout the years has been literary quality, cultural significance, and high artistic criteria. Therefore our back catalog holds works by the world’s classic authors, poets and philosophers, such as William Shakespeare, Immanuel Kant, Nikolai Gogol, Gustave Flaubert, Fyodor Dostoyevsky, Leo Tolstoy, Karl Marx, Rosa Luxemburg, Rainer Maria Rilke, Sigmund Freud, Else Lasker-Schüler, Thomas Mann, Clarice Lispector, Hannah Arendt, Bertolt Brecht, Elsa Morante, Primo Levi, Italo Calvino, James Baldwin, Samuel Beckett, Natalia Ginzburg, Isaac Bashevis Singer, Paul Celan, José Saramago, Jean Baudrillard, and Zygmunt Bauman; and by such prominent contemporary authors as Toni Morrison, David Foster Wallace, Ta-Nehisi Coates, Elena Ferrante, David Grossman, A.B.
